The daily routine

The same shape, every day

Meals, walks and rest happen at the same times whether it is a quiet Tuesday or the middle of August. Predictability is most of the work.

07:00

Breakfast and first turnout

Their own food, in their own run, at the time you normally feed them.

09:00

Field walk

Forty minutes in the lower meadow on a long line, unless you have told us they can be off.

12:00

Rest in the barn

Lights low, radio on, nobody in and out for two hours.

15:00

Play or a second walk

Matched groups where it suits them, a solo walk where it does not.

17:30

Dinner and settle

Evening meal, a last turn out, then the night staff take over.

22:00

Last check

A quiet walk round the barn. Every dog is seen, and the night number is answered.

Before the first stay

Papers, food and one familiar blanket

Vaccinations we ask for

Distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and kennel cough, all given at least fourteen days before the first day of the stay. Send a photo of the record with your form and bring the original when you arrive. We cannot admit a dog without it.

What to bring

Food for the whole stay, any medication in its original box, a blanket that smells of home, a collar and a lead. Leave the bowls and the bed at home — we have plenty, and things get lost.

Questions

Boarding, in practice

Can two dogs from the same house share a run?

Usually yes, if they already live together and eat separately without a fuss. Tell us on the form and we will put them in a double run with a divider that can be opened or closed.

Do you take bitches in season?

Yes, in the quiet barn at the end of the yard, with walks on their own. There is no surcharge, but please tell us when you book so we can plan the runs.

What time is drop-off and collection?

Drop-off is 8–11am or 4–6pm, so arrivals do not land in the middle of the rest period. Collection is any time before 11am. If you are running late, ring the yard number and we will wait.

Can my dog bring their own bed?

A blanket, yes. A full bed, usually not — they get chewed, soaked or mixed up. We provide raised beds with a washable cover, and we will put your blanket on top.

School holidays go first.

If you know the dates, send them now. We will hold a run for a week while you decide.
